“Finding Sarah Miller is a journey of second chances.”
Sarah, a divorced mom with two boys, makes the ultimate sacrifice and moves halfway across the world to keep her children close to their dad and his new wife.
Once settled into their new life, Sarah yearns for something more and heads off on a road trip of self-discovery.
She finds Marcus, a sexy mysterious MMA fighter, lost and on his own journey.
Finding Sarah Miller is a passionate sexy love affair between two people, who's lives couldn’t be more different.
Will Sarah finally find the love she so desires? Or will their obstacles prove to great and leave Sarah heartbroken once more?
As a young girl, I had always loved to read. Preferring stories with strong female characters, I loved the feeling of being part of their story. Almost like I had been witness to the very events that unfolded on the pages before me. I felt as though these great women were my friends.
I knew that if I did in fact ever write a book of my own, I would only want strong positive women on my pages. I held that dream very close to me, never telling anyone.
Years later, a friend recommended a book to me… I didn’t love it. She made an innocent comment, “Well you couldn’t do any better.” It lit a fire deep inside me. That young girl who dreamt of writing wasn’t dead. She was alive and well, but had been busy working, having children and being a wife.
Those words, while weighed heavily upon me, also freed me at the same time. It was the kick up the butt I needed. “Why couldn’t I do any better?” I could and I knew it.
So, I sat down and began to write. The words flowed so easily. Before I knew it, my book had taken shape.
The beauty was I was able to use the old, “If the book you want to read isn’t written…write it,” theory.
I incorporated a love of strong women and one of my favourite sports…Mixed Martial Arts.
I hope that people who read my book not only love it…and I know you will…but I hope it reminds you that all those little dreams you have, you can achieve them. You can do anything you want. Re-light the fire inside you…and if you can’t…get a friend to accidently do it for you.

What inspires you to write?
Everything. There are stories everywhere. Sometimes I’ll be driving and thoughts flow into my brain. I go to bed and can’t sleep, plot lines swarming through my brain.
-
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Well…I have a few locations. I’m a huge fight fan, so my dream is to watch a fight in Vegas.
I also want to go to England to see where Marc Bolan lived and died.
In saying that…I want to go everywhere. I want to say to my grandkids one day, that I have been everywhere, I have lived. Leave no stone unturned.

If you could meet one author, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Just one…like most people, I love Jane Austen, but I don’t know that I would chose her if there is only one. It’s a really hard one, I am a sucker for a biography. I love reading other people’s truth. Being invited into their story I find it genuine and authentic. These are really hard questions. I think, even though we are not the same genre, Stephen
King. I think he would have an incredible mind. I think he could teach me a lot.

What can you tell us about your current release?
Well it’s about Sarah, a woman who married her best friend Peter after she became pregnant to him. When “friends with benefits” goes terribly wrong. Lol
They were never really “in love”, more just trying to do what they thought was right. Their marriage lasted nine years and two children, before he finally found the love of his life. Leaving Sarah a single mom, with no real plans for her future.
Peter and his new wife Natalie, wanted to move back to Natalie’s Native California. Not wanting to move away from his kids or Sarah, Peter begs her and the kids to move with him and Natalie.
She agrees, and decides once the boys are settled into school she is going to for the first time in 13 years, do something selfish and travel around America to rediscover herself.
At the same time Marcus Anderson a professional MMA fighter is also contemplating his own future. Not sure if he wants to continue to fight or take some time away from fighting.
He meets Sarah and they share a week together with no promise of a future.
As their week draws to an end it becomes clear neither are want to part, but Sarah still needs to find herself and Marcus has agreed to a new three fight contract.
They try to make their situation work. Both making some poor choices along the way.
Marcus is consumed by Sarah. He has never been in this position before. He is holding on to Sarah tight. Maybe too tight.
I so want to say so much more, but I don’t want to spoil things.
It has a fair chunk of naughty bits, not dirty nasty stuff. NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT. LOL It’s just not what I write. But it’s pretty naughty none the less. So, if naughty bits are not your thing…skim through those bits. But, read it anyway. Because the book changes at the half way point.
Its so much more than naughty bits though. Its funny, sad, romantic, scary and yep…a bit naughty. lol
Along the way when she meets Catherine and Mike a married couple, who appear to have it all together. Unbeknownst to Sarah, their lives are about to be turned upside down and the effects are going to be felt by all.

Is there anything you can share with us about your next release?
Well I am about to release Finding Marcus Anderson. Which is about the next chapter in Marcus and Sarah’s lives. We dig into his past, to see what makes him tick. Marcus has some secrets. Some VERY big secrets. There are also some huge surprises in store for Marcus.
I am currently writing another series. One that I think every single reader can relate to personally. I guarantee you will become personally invested in the story. It’s a bit different, but not in a bad way. It’s all about choices. Hmmm I don’t want to say too much and ruin what is coming. But keep an eye out it should be out in a few months.

Is there an author you look up to?
Oh, so many! All to be honest. To write makes you vulnerable. You leave your story out there for people to love or hate, to judge you.
Writing is full of rejection, from publishing houses, bloggers, reviews, readers. Not just your writing, it’s your cover, your blurb. It’s all judged. Yet we do it, not because we want to be judged, but because we love to write, we HAVE to write, so much that we take on the judgement.
I have friends who are authors. Just ordinary men and women who make up stuff that entertains people. Stuff from their heart. I love and look up to every one of them.
If we are talking about famous big names, I can’t go past Jane Austen. To write love stories, to write relationships in such a way that 200 years later, she still captures new hearts. I mean really think about that…200 years later we still love her writing. The characters she wrote are flawed, yet we love them. She wrote couples so well, yet she never married.

If you weren't writing, what would you consider doing as a career?
Well I’m a mum…so I’d still be a mum. I write once all the little folk are in bed. I don’t start writing till 9pm each night. I am sooooooo sleep deprived. So maybe a mattress tester. Yeah that would be a good job. Lol I wonder how I can find those types of jobs. Must put that on my to do list.

Tell us a little bit about the day in the life of C.L. McGrath
I have kids. My eldest starts school at 8.20am each morning. So, my morning is very organised. Then its play dates with my youngest, house work and as often as I can…I visit my 97-year-old grandfather at his nursing home. I love my grandfather. He is a WWII veteran. We sit and talk about his life. He loves that I write. He too writes. Not for anyone else, just for him and me. He writes about his life, world events and how he feels about the future. I’m very blessed to have this time with him. It blows my mind some of the great stories he tells me.
Then it’s time to pick up my son from school, go to piano lessons and swimming lessons, come home make dinner. Get the kids bathed, fed and put to bed.
At this point. I grab my laptop and iPod. Stick my earbuds in my ears and let the music guide me. Regretfully I then look at the time, realise its 2am, and shake my head all the way to bed. Where I lay thinking about plot lines for 20 mins before falling to sleep.
