4.5 Stars!
We all have that list of authors that we don’t even have to know what the book is about before we click it, and Caisey Quinn is on my list. I fell in love with her writing with her Kylie Ryans series (one click them here: http://amzn.to/1XqvnTw) and have enjoyed her books ever since!
I was super excited to know that Corin and Skylar from Keep Me Still (http://amzn.to/1YsYxRF) were going to get the chance to have their story told. You do not need to read Keep Me Still before you read Give Me You, but I HIGHLY recommend it! It was a great story and you will understand more behind the scenes of Give Me You.
With Give Me You being a spin off I thought Caisey did a great job of not over telling (or retelling) the story these characters came from. The parts that were the most important to their story was redone and I enjoyed going back to the original story. We get to see what went on when Corin and Skylar gave Layla and Landen space, which is something I was dying to know.
I loved how strong Corin was. She’s from New York and is not happy where her life is or where it’s going and decides to become the person she wants to be. She get’s into college in California and meets Layla. Through Layla and Landen she meets Skylar, Landen’s roommate. Skylar is your typical playboy and was born into a wealthy family. He’s everything that Corin is trying to get away from. With their connection so strong and Skylar’s constant comments filled with sexy innuendos, Corin is upfront about not wanting that kind of relationship. And I have to give it to Skylar, he is there for her and understands that she has her walls up for a reason. Their story is not an easy one. As Corin likes to point out in the book, it’s not your typical fairy tale, but both these characters show so much growth throughout the book and that is a big reason why I loved it so much. You could really see the progress they both made not only with themselves, but as a couple. Not to mention that once they do let all their walls down and come together it is HOT!

Corin Connelly left her past far behind her in New York City. Along with her mother and an ex-boyfriend who had no plans to let her go. Starting over in college in California seemed like a vacation in paradise compared to her old life, and if anyone needs a fresh start, it’s her. But her new roommate has a life-threatening secret, and soon paradise becomes even more intense than New York. When she loses a bet to the university soccer team’s star goalie, Skylar Martin, he claims a prize she didn’t ever plan to give him.
A weekend in her hometown.
Skylar Martin is used to getting what he wants. Growing up in a world of privilege has made his life easy, which is exactly how he likes his women. But when a feisty redhead tells him no, he becomes determined to figure out what makes her tick. And what she’s hiding.
Spending a weekend together will change everything they think they know about each other. The closer they become, the harder it is to hide the mistakes they thought they’d left behind–mistakes that will stand in the way of what they both want.
Corin and Skylar will have to stop hiding from the darkness in their pasts if they want a bright future together. But how can you love someone if you can’t forgive them?
